Mahindra Unveils INGLO Architecture for BE 6e and XEV 9e SUVs
Mahindra has introduced its innovative INGLO Electric Origin Architecture, a purpose-built platform designed exclusively for electric vehicles. This cutting-edge architecture will power the automaker’s upcoming electric SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, representing a new chapter in Mahindra’s EV strategy.
A Platform Built Around Efficiency and Space
The INGLO Electric Origin Architecture adopts a lightweight flat-floor skateboard design, optimizing space and efficiency. With its electric-first approach, INGLO eliminates the central tunnel commonly found in traditional vehicles, enhancing cabin space and offering improved seating flexibility. This flat floor also contributes to a lower center of gravity, enhancing stability and handling, critical for SUVs.
The architecture’s modular and scalable structure allows for versatility across vehicle types, enabling it to support diverse models like the sporty BE 6e and the refined XEV 9e without compromising on performance or quality.
Advanced Battery Technology and Rapid Charging
At the core of the INGLO platform is an advanced LFP battery system, offered in 59 kWh and 79 kWh capacities. Mahindra emphasizes durability, safety, and efficiency with its cell-to-pack technology, ensuring long-term reliability. The platform promises to address range anxiety, delivering competitive range figures and the ability to charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes with a 175 kW DC fast charger.
A sophisticated thermal management system ensures consistent performance, even in varying climates or over repeated charge cycles. The charging system meets global standards, making it compatible across diverse markets and infrastructure.
BE 6e and XEV 9e Safety
Safety is a primary focus for Mahindra’s INGLO architecture. The battery placement beneath the cabin not only lowers the center of gravity but also integrates into the underbody as a protective cage. Ultra-high-strength boron steel and reinforced frontal structures contribute to enhanced crash protection. The design has been tested to withstand extreme conditions, offering confidence to drivers across terrains.
Dynamic Performance and Intelligent Features
The platform is equipped with a compact three-in-one powertrain integrating the motor, inverter, and transmission. With outputs ranging from 170-210 kW for rear-wheel drive configurations, the architecture supports dynamic and powerful performance. A semi-active suspension system, brake-by-wire technology, and intelligent drive modes further enhance driving precision and adaptability.
