Bologna reportedly targets Tessmann to bolster midfield, with a factor potentially aiding the deal.
According to reports from *TuttoBolognaweb*, Bologna’s transfer market activity is focused on finding a deputy for Freuler. Giovanni Sartori, the club’s sporting director, has listed Tanner Tessmann as a potential candidate, with a return to Italy possible in January.
Tessmann, formerly of Venezia, is currently at Lyon, having been signed in the summer for €6 million. However, the French club is facing financial difficulties due to significant debt, and if they fail to resolve their fiscal issues, they risk automatic relegation.
This financial pressure means Lyon may look to offload players in January to balance the books, and Tessmann could be among those considered expendable.
Despite his limited playing time of only 380 minutes so far this season, Tessmann is seen as a functional substitute for Freuler in the tactical setup of Bologna’s manager, Italiano.
