Transfer Rumours: Napoli Dismisses Claims of Meret’s Move as Northern Fabrications

Rumours are swirling about Alex Meret of Napoli becoming a target for Inter Milan’s transfer market, amid reported difficulties in reaching an agreement on a contract renewal with the Neapolitan club.

From Naples, Umberto Chiariello, the head of the sports department at Radio CRC, which is an official media partner of Napoli, addressed the issue on his X account, stating emphatically that such reports are false and likely fabricated to disrupt the environment surrounding Antonio Conte’s team.

“Once again, I reiterate: fake news, this time from the Gazzetta. And I have WRITTEN evidence from the parties involved this time as well,” Chiariello stated, according to his post on X.

He added, “I have the impression that this is another Northern attempt to destabilise the Napoli environment, which has been feared like the bubonic plague since Conte arrived (Marotta will confirm). Neapolitan press, do not fall into the trap by giving voice to these attempts.”

The denial from Chiariello aims to set the record straight amid ongoing speculation in the media.
