Taal director Subhash Ghai admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, read report
Renowned Bollywood director Subhash Ghai was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai today. The director was taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after he wasn't feeling well. The 79-year-old filmmaker is taken to the ICU and is currently undergoing treatment. As per the reports, the filmmaker was taken to the hospital after he complained of alleged speech difficulty and memory loss. Some news portal mention it was a routine checkup.
Subhash Ghai admitted to hospital
As reported by several entertainment news portals, Subhash Ghai was taken to the hospital midweek due to complaints of weakness, respiratory issues, and dizziness. However, as reported by IANS, he has been undergoing treatment as he is having difficulty speaking, dealing with confusion and memory loss. A statement was also shared by the hospital with the news agency.
In the statement shared by the Lilavati Hospital doctors, the Pardes director is in the emergency department and his past medical history shows he is positive for ischaemic heart disease (s/p AVR 2009, CABG in 2011, and pacemaker insertion in 2011) and was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Dr. Rohit Deshpande from is looking after Ghai.
Further about Subhash Ghai's health update, the hospital said in the statement, "Initial CT angio of the brain, chest and abdomen and initial baseline blood investigations were essentially acceptable for his age and the patient was further evaluated. Ultrasound of the neck suggested features suggestive of thyroiditis with a hypoechoic margin requiring further evaluation. Transrectal Ultrasound of the prostate showed a heterogeneous hypoechoic lesion in the left lobe of the prostate gland with a serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) value > 100. The patient is being evaluated for paraneoplastic syndrome secondary to the prostate lesion for which the patient is scheduled for a PET-CT scan on Monday."
