Nayanthara begged her producers to not use 'Lady Superstar' tag for her; here’s why

South superstar Nayanthara is loved and admired by many. She has a crazy fan following and is one of the well-established divas in town. She has spread her charm in Bollywood as well. She was seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan. Of late, Nayanthara has been in the news because of her tiff with Dhanush. In a recent interview, she opened about the controversy. She said that she is not angry with Dhanush over the law suit filed. In the same interview, she also spoke about the 'Lady Superstar' tag given to her.

Nayanthara gets candid about Lady Superstar tag

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nayanthara shared that she has received enough backlash because of this tag. She has also asked her producers and directors to not use the card 'Lady Superstar'. She added that she is so scared because of the backlash received. Nayanthara also added that her career is not defined by the tag and neither is she trying to snatch it away from anyone. Sharing that the tag does not mean much to her, she added, "But it means a bit to me only because of the love and respect people have for me. It's not like I thought about it one night, created it, and next day, said this is my title, use it. We live in such a smart world. You can't fool the audience. You can't do anything on your own. It just happens."

In the same interview, she also spoke about having respect for her male co-stars even though she is called as the Lady Superstar. She shared that she has a certain fan following because of the biggest superstars she has worked with, especially in the beginning of her career. She feels that it partly has contributed to her fan following.
