Nissan Registers Record Sales and Magnite Success in December 2024

Nissan Motor India capped off 2024 with its best-ever December sales, reflecting strong domestic and international demand. The company recorded consolidated wholesale dispatches of 11,676 units, the highest December figures in its history. This milestone was bolstered by the growing popularity of the new Nissan Magnite SUV, which crossed 10,000 bookings since its October 2024 launch.

Strong Export and Domestic Sales

Nissan’s December 2024 sales comprised 9,558 export units and 2,118 units for the domestic market. Export numbers showed a 72% year-on-year (YoY) increase, up from 5,561 units in December 2023. Month-on-month (MoM) export growth also surged by 43%, rising from 6,698 units in November 2024. Year-to-date (YTD) export numbers for FY24 stood at 51,764 units, a 63% increase from 31,667 units in YTD FY23.

Domestically, Nissan’s performance was buoyed by the launch of new models, including the fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail and the refreshed Magnite, both of which contributed to heightened customer interest.

Milestones for the Nissan Magnite

The new Nissan Magnite has cemented itself as a cornerstone of the company’s success. Over 2,700 units of the Magnite were exported within a month of its international launch, starting with shipments to South Africa. Nissan has expanded its Magnite exports to over 45 new markets, reaching a global footprint of 65 countries, including left-hand drive markets.

Since its debut in December 2020, the Magnite has achieved cumulative sales of over 150,000 units, solidifying its position as a competitive compact SUV in both Indian and global markets. The SUV’s appeal lies in its bold design, advanced safety features, and best-in-class offerings, making it a key player in Nissan’s “Make-in-India, Make-for-the-World” strategy.

Strategic Growth and Network Expansion

Nissan Motor India is also focused on bolstering its domestic presence. The company aims to expand its dealership network to 300 touchpoints by the fiscal year-end, with recent openings in cities like Nashik and Gorakhpur. Nissan’s new state-of-the-art National Training Centre in Chennai underscores its commitment to enhancing customer service by improving dealership and service staff skills.

Looking Ahead

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, highlighted 2024 as a transformative year for the company, noting the successful launch of new models and network expansions. Vatsa emphasized Nissan’s focus on maintaining this momentum into 2025 to deliver more value to customers and stakeholders.
