Former President: RPA does not seek power, and therefore does not  nominate its candidate for Prime Minister of Armenia

ArmInfo. The Republican Party, which previously held power Armenia, is not seeking power. This  statement was made  to journalists on May 21 by the Chairman of the RPA and the third President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, in response to a question about the RPA's stance on the initiative to express a vote of no confidence in the current Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan.

According to the former President, the Constitution of the country  clearly states how and under what circumstances a vote of no  confidence can be expressed in the current Prime Minister of the  Republic of Armenia. For this reason, Sargsyan suggested that  journalists contact the initiators of this process, especially in the  context of  presenting the draft resolution and  including in the  agenda of the National Assembly.

Sargsyan once again emphasized that the RPA has never stated its  refusal to participate in this issue, and furthermore, the assertion  that the party's stance is not serious appears even more peculiar.  When asked about the reasons for the constant targeted attacks from  all sides against the former government since 2018, the ex-president  noted that this phenomenon did not begin in 2018. "If you closely  read the statements of the second President of the Republic of  Armenia Robert Kocharyan during his recent press conference, you  should have paid attention to his statement that everything began in  2008," the former head of the Armenian state emphasized.
