Armenian premier`s car to get Gold license plate
ArmInfo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia has proposed replacing the set of numbers and letters '001 UU' on the license plate of the vehicle serving the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia with only the number '1'. The initiative was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on January 8.
According to current legal regulations, the set of numbers and letters on the license plate of the vehicle serving the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia consists of 5 characters, namely '001 UU'.
In this regard, it should be noted that trends identified during the study of international experience indicate that, in the case of vehicles serving high-ranking government officials, a rule clearly deviating from the standard often applies (for example, in Sweden and Iceland): fewer characters (up to the use of only one symbol) and they are used in combination with the national flag.
Given the above, it became necessary to revise the numerical and letter combination of the license plate number for the vehicle serving the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, harmonizing it with modern international trends," the document's explanatory note states.
The Swedish Prime Minister, to whom the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs refers, is known for his modesty. In particular, Ulf Kristersson, like many Swedish officials, uses public transportation, such as commuter trains, to commute to work, demonstrating his commitment to the principles of equality and environmental friendliness.
