Kristina Kvien: Armenia has a unique opportunity to lay a solid  foundation for its sovereignty and territorial integrity

ArmInfo.Armenia has a unique opportunity to implement all the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, to strengthen the solid foundations of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and we hope for a peaceful future in the region, as stated by the outgoing US Ambassador to Armenia, Kristina Kvien, at a meeting with President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

According to the press service of the Armenian President, during the meeting, Khachaturyan expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for her work and cooperation, underscoring the significance of the work carried out over the past three years. Khachaturyan noted that the latest stage in the development of Armenian-American relations is of particular significance, especially in the context of the formation of a strategic partnership between the countries. According to the President, even last year, the Charter of Strategic Partnership, signed on January 14, had seemed unbelievable to many, but processes have developed faster than expected. 

Khachaturyan highlighted the signing of the joint "Declaration of Peace" in Washington on August 8, as well as the joint statement of the Armenian and US governments on the Trump Initiative for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) framework of January 13.  He expressed hope that peace would be lasting, and the presence and support of the United States would also contribute to the progress in Armenia's economic life.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Khachaturyan awarded Kvien the Order of Friendship for her significant contribution to deepening cooperation between Armenia and the United States, as well as for her efforts to enhance Armenian-American friendly relations.
