The No. 6-ranked Grand Haven girls basketball team hosted Midland on Saturday in a non-conference showdown. The Chemics, who entered the week as an honorable mention selection in the Division 1 rankings, proved they belonged in the Top 10 conversation as they took down the Buccaneers for an impressive 38-36 road win. Midland led 22-11 at halftime, but Grand Haven rallied to tie the game at 36 late in regulation. With 11 seconds left in the game, the Buccaneers were called for a foul and the Chemics sank a pair of free throws to seal the hard-fought win.
