Prep report: Northwestern holds on to share of league title

Northwestern got the upper hand in a defensive struggle on Thursday night, Feb. 26 and with it got a hand on first place in the Heart O’North Conference. The Tigers (17-7, 15-3 HON) will share the league title with St. Croix Falls after both teams won their regular-season finales. The Tigers left it until late, falling behind in the second half before regaining the lead inside the last three minutes and defeating Cumberland 47-43 in Maple. Tysen Teal had a pair of steals in a six-point Tiger run to give the hosts a 45-40 lead. Ethan Harms led Northwestern with 13 points, while Teal and Noah Bourque scored 12 apiece.
