Romeo emerges as first-time MHSAA state qualifier

Brighton, Grandville, Hartland and Romeo all have something in common and it’s not they are all one public school towns in Michigan, either. Their competitive cheer teams are packing their bags for Mt. Pleasant next weekend. Those four schools made the cut with top four finishes at the MHSAA Division 1 regional at Hartland High School on Saturday, qualifying for the state finals at Central Michigan University’s McGuirk Arena on March 6. Division 4 starts at 4 p.m. and Division 1 will begin around 6:30 p.m. Friday with Division 2 and Division 3 taking place at the same site on March 7.
