Five high school wrestlers can join historic ranks after Ford Field victories

Detroit — More than 1,100 wrestlers entered Ford Field on Friday to start MHSAA individual wrestling finals. Just 140 remain heading into Saturday’s championships. Five wrestlers remain who can join the historic ranks of four-time title winners, advancing to their respective finals on Friday: Detroit Catholic Central’s Wyatt Lees (132, D1), Grand Rapids Catholic Central’s Dale Grant (138, D3), Hudson’s Nick Sorrow (132, D4), Plainwell’s Madison Nieuwenhuis (105, Girls) and Westland John Glenn’s Nakayla Dawson (115, Girls).
