Narek Karapetyan: Artsakh residents` return is only possible with  security guarantees in place

ArmInfo. It is clear that under the current leadership of Azerbaijan, the people of Artsakh will not be able to live safely in their homeland. Narek Karapetyan, a board member of the "Strong Armenia" party,  made this statement on March 13 outside the Anti- Corruption Court of Armenia.

In this regard, he emphasized that their political party's stance on the Artsakh issue is to prioritize providing housing for compatriots in Armenia. "This will be the most important issue. Let's be honest: at this stage, their return is impossible, as there are no security guarantees. We will be able to raise the issue of return only when these guarantees are in place. This issue will also be a priority for us, but under the current circumstances, this is not yet possible. I want to be honest with our compatriots and not say anything simply to gain their trust," Karapetyan noted.

As an example, he recalled that even several Artsakh residents who stayed after the forced displacement eventually requested help to  return  to Armenia. "However, if guarantees are provided, then we can start international efforts, including through the establishment of relations. But this is a significant issue that must be approached with great seriousness," the party board member concluded.
