Watch: Spike Jonze Directed Video For Kanye West's "Only One"
When he's not making movies, Spike Jonze is creating iconic, groundbreaking, visually inventive videos for folks like Weezer, Beastie Boys, Bjork, and Arcade Fire. Also in his rolodex is Kanye West and Jay-Z, collaborating with the pair for the promo for "Otis." Now, Yeezy has rung up Jonze again, this time for another project, a music video for "Only One" from the rapper's forthcoming, untitled album.
But this isn't a club banger. Debuted on "Ellen," and featuring keyboards by Paul McCartney, the ditty is a sweet song from Kanye to his daughter North, that floods the vocals with autotune. As for Jonze, he keeps this simple, with a home video style approach. It's sweet I suppose, but probably neither the song or video will go down as classics for either artist or director.
