Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, And Rose Byrne Move In For 'Neighbors 2,' Set 2016 Release Date
This was inevitable. Earning over $265 million bucks worldwide, the modestly-budgeted smash hit "Neighbors" was a big success for everyone involved last year. Audiences and critics loved it, Seth Rogen and Zac Efron proved to be engaging nemeses, and the film embraced the R-rating. So, it was only a matter of time until a sequel was punched, and here we are.
Universal has slotted "Neighbors 2" for May 13, 2016 (where it will probably handily beat Paramount's unnecessary "Friday The 13th" remake). Rogen and Efron are back, but this time they'll be on the same side, when Rogen has to call in the former fraternity bros to help fight off a sorority that has now moved in next door. You would think the university would've rezoned that building after the last movie, but whatever. Yes, secret comedy weapon Rose Byrne will return as well, along with Nicholas Stoller, who will again be behind the camera.
Production begins this summer.
