Joss Whedon Explains Why Loki Doesn't Show Up In 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron'
While I won't spoil anything for those walking into one of the 4,200 theaters screening "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" this weekend, you will be surprised at just how many Marvel-verse characters drop by. And as we know, Joss Whedon in early stages had even more planned. He had wanted to introduce Captain Marvel at the end of the movie, and last fall, word leaked that Tom Hiddleston's Loki was shooting material for the movie. But the Loki didn't make the cut, and Whedon explains why the key Marvel-verse villain was left out.
“We did shoot something, but it didn’t play,” he told MTV News.“The movie has so much. It’s so filled. We didn’t want it to feel overstuffed. I really wanted to have Loki in it, but I understood the decision that there were now too many voices in the chorus."
“At some point the embarrassment of riches is actually embarrassing,” he added.
