Earning a meagre $54 million at the box office on a $30 million budget, the Farrelly Brothers reboot of "The Three Stooges" wasn't well received: audiences were indifferent. But that doesn't matter. Why? Because The Three Stooges are a brand, and so another movie is in the works. Perhaps to little surprise, 20th Century Fox is not involved.
Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos and Will Sasso will reprise their roles as Larry, Moe and Curly in this new indie production. A action star will join the cast, and of course all kinds of licensing and whatnot is being planned. Did no one in a position of importance realize that there's not enough of an audience to justify this project?
