Five Russian companies and their subsidiaries added to US black books

YEREVAN, September 2. /ARKA/. The US Departments of State and Commerce have added more Russian companies to US blacklists to ensure the efficacy of sanctions against Moscow over the Ukraine crisis and allegedly guarantee their compliance with the nuclear nonproliferation regime imposed on Iran, Syria and North Korea, Sputnik International reports.

There are five Russian entities and their subsidiaries on the list. These are: Instrument Design Bureau (KBP) Tula; Joint Stock Company Katod; JSC NPO Mashinostroyenia; Russian Aircraft Corporation, and the state arms exporter, Rosoboronexport.

The two documents are scheduled to be published later on Wednesday, but their pre-publication versions are already available on the US Federal Register website.

The US State Department meanwhile earmarked over a dozen of companies from Russia, China, Sudan, Turkey and United Arab Emirates for penalties for allegedly providing Iran, Syria and North Korea with materials needed to build weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), cruise and ballistic missiles in violation of nonproliferation acts, Sputnik International says.

These measures are to stay in place for two years from the effective date, the document indicated. ---0----
