Armenian president convenes conditional National Security Council meeting
YEREVAN, September 3. / ARKA /. Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan, who is also chairman of the National Security Council, convened on Thursday a conditional Council meeting as part of strategic command and staff exercises "Lightning-2015" to inform on the situation unfolding in recent days around the republic according to the scenario of exercises.
"The meeting heard the reports and suggestions of members of the National Security Council, stemming from the conventional situation. Relevant government agencies were assigned tasks stemming from the exercise scenario, " the press service of the head of state said.
The President was said to have pointed out the importance of the exercises in terms of prompt and effective action in specific situations, testing the capabilities and readiness of public authorities.
The exercises were launched today and will run until September 6.-0-
