Training of Russian airbase pilots starts

Before conducting flights in mountainous areas the pilots have been trained at the Russian military bases of the Southern Military District, the press service of the Southern Military District informed. This year they have conducted 100-hour flights on average, by MiG-29 fourth-generation jet fighter aircrafts.

At Erebuni military airdrome, young pilots will fly the military aircrafts on their own for the first time. Each pilot has previously conducted flights for 30 hours under the instructor’s supervision. During the training flights they should perform the takeoff of the aircraft, carry out simple flying elements and land in various weather conditions, by day and by night.

The peculiarities of flights in Armenia are the mountainous conditions and the hot and rapidly changing climate.

The pilots of Russian military airbase are regularly conducting exercises aimed at the interception of air targets of the conventional rival and learn to synchronously climb pairs of aircrafts and simultaneously destroy the targets once they get their coordinates.

The exercises are conducted on special training apparatuses during classes, which enable to perform flight tasks as well as the operational procedure in emergency situations.
