12 injured in William Nichol crash

Johannesburg – Twelve people were injured when a taxi and a car collided at the intersection of William Nichol and Bryanston roads in Bryanston, Johannesburg, paramedics said on Sunday.

The accident occurred at about 11.40pm on Saturday night, Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said in a statement.

Details of the cause of the accident were still “speculative” and would remain a subject for police investigation, he said.

Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue unit arrived at the scene and after triaging, found that 12 people had sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.

After medics treated the patients at the scene they transported them to various hospitals in the area for the care they required, Botha said.
