SA manufacturing rises

South Africa's manufacturing output rose by 5.6 percent year-on-year in July.

Johannesburg - South Africa's manufacturing output rose by 5.6 percent year-on-year in July.

This is above expectations and comes after a revised 0.5 percent contraction in June, Statistics South Africa said on Thursday.

On a month-on-month basis, factory production was up 0.3 percent, but fell 1.3 percent in the three months to July compared with the previous three months.
