Alrighty, here’s your first look at HBO Films’ “The Wizard Of Lies.” Directed by Barry Levinson, the drama is currently in production in New York and stars Robert De Niro (as Bernie Madoff) and Michelle Pfeiffer (as Ruth Madoff).
Fitting nicely into HBO's one-off drama remit of 'things about grown-up subjects' that no-one else would make (see also: "You Don't Know Jack," "Phil Spector," "Too Big To Fail") “Wizard Of Lies” is a look behind the scenes at Bernie Madoff’s massive Ponzi scheme, how it was perpetrated on the public, and the trail of destruction it left in its wake, both for the victims and Madoff’s family.
