Two held for Table View dagga lab

A tip-off led the police K9 unit to a house in Table View “where they uncovered a fully equipped hydroponic dagga laboratory”.

Cape Town – Members of the police’s K9 unit swooped on a dagga laboratory in the Table View suburb of Sunningdale on Friday.

Police obtained a search warrant for the house after being tipped off about illegal activity on the premises, said police spokeswoman Noloyiso Rwexana.

“Police went to the address in Glen Eagle Road where they uncovered a fully equipped hydroponic dagga laboratory in various rooms in the house,” said Rwexana.

“Dagga plants of different sizes, lights, fans and other equipment valued at a substantial amount were confiscated.”

Officers arrested two suspects, aged 32 and 34. The two were expected to appear in Cape Town Magistrate Court on Monday.
