Pair held for killing of two cops
Two men believed to be linked to the shooting and killing of two police officers in Dobsonville have been arrested.

Members of the elite police unit the Hawks arrested two men at an informal settlement in Lawley near Lenasia on Wednesday night.
The arrests bring to five the number of suspects arrested in connection with the two officers’ murders.
An SAPS forensic team and members of the Hawks inspected the shack where they found the suspects, but didn’t find any weapons.
According to local residents, the men are feared criminals and are involved in numerous police killings in and around Gauteng.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini did not immediately confirm if the men were linked to other police killings in the province. “We cannot reveal any further information, and the investigations are still continuing,” he said.
Last week, Warrant Officer Samuel Mchizama, 50, and Constable Solly Maluleke, 40, were murdered in Dobsonville.
The pair were members of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit and had been in the police service for 25 years and 10 years respectively.
Three suspects were arrested last week while two others were shot and killed when they opened fire at police.
“The other (suspect) appeared in court on Monday. His case was postponed and he was remanded in custody,” Dlamini said, adding that the police were hoping to arrest about 20 more suspects.
Following the recent spate of police killings, President Jacob Zuma called for urgent intervention to end the onslaught. He also urged the police to defend themselves when attacked, but within the confines of the law.
