President instructs full procurement of grape and fruits
Armenian agriculture minister Sergo Karapeyan told reporters today that they have president Serzh Sargsyan’s instruction to ensure that all the grapes and fruits grown by farmers be procured by processing companies in full and on time.
He said the bulk of wineries and processing companies will start buying grapes from September 21. According to Karapetyan, until last Friday the procurement process went on smoothly.
He said the ministry has done a great deal of preparatory work for large-scale grape procurement, however, some problems emerged yesterday caused by the fact that the Yerevan Brandy Company began procurements on September 7, while other wineries delayed the process a little.
The minister also added that the Ararat winery promised there will be no restrictions on procurement of grapes and that payments will be made immediately after the purchases .-- 0--
