President Sargsyan condoles untimely death of Armen Movsisyan

Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan expressed his condolences on the untimely death of a former energy minister Armen Movsisyan, Sargsyan’s press service said today.

YEREVAN, September 22. / ARKA /. Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan expressed his condolences on the untimely death of a former energy minister Armen Movsisyan, Sargsyan’s press service said today.
According to reports in Armenian media, Armen Movsisyan died on September 21. He was 53. 

Movsisyan, who resigned in 2014 after leading the ministry for 13 years, died in Germany where he was treated against cancer. After resignation he served as a presidential advisor. 

Armen Movsisyan was born in 1962 in the town of Kapan in southern Armenia. He graduated from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute and then from the Moscow-based Institute of Light Industry.

He worked as director of Electron plant in Kapan, head of Syunik regional power grid, executive director of Southern power grid. He served as energy minister from 2001 to 2014.  He is survived by his wife and two children. -0-
