I've written so much about Hou Hsiao-hsien's "The Assassin," that at this point, I don't know what else to say. You should know by now it's one of the most acclaimed films of the year so far, it picked up a Best Director win at Cannes, and it's gunning for the Oscars as Taiwan's entry to the race. The years-in-the-making film has Chang Chen and Shu Qi in the lead roles, in the evocatively told tale about an assassin, trained in exile, who is sent on a mission back to her hometown. Here's the official synopsis:
