Cape’s good Samaritans save the day

Cape Town - Motorists Wesley Meyers and Gerhard Conradie came to the aid of a fellow driver who crashed into a lamppost on the N1 highway near Tygerberg Hills, City of Cape Town mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith said.

“They were first on the scene and ran to pull the driver out of his burning car,” Smith who was on scene said.

“Shortly afterward the car was completely alight.”

Within minutes three medical professionals, including a doctor and a paramedic, who were driving past stopped to assist.

The man was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
