Armenian Armed Forces to use "adequate striking means”

At around 17:30 on September 25, 2015, the Azerbaijani armed forces shelled one of the military subdivisions of the Defense Army located in the northeast NKR; as a result, the Armenian side suffered casualties and several soldiers were wounded.

During the shelling, the rival used 122mm artillery weapons for the first time targeting not only the troops on the frontline but the military subdivisions in the rear.

“The Armenian Forces’ restrained behavior aimed at backing the political process of the conflict settlement and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ and international organizations’ responses do not induce the rival to keep the ceasefire. Moreover, they create the delusion of their own force’s excellence provoking them to take new adventurous steps in the atmosphere of impunity.

The Armenian Defense Ministry states that the rival’s consistent escalation of situation which entails casualties as well as the international community’s unaddressed criticism and concerns are unacceptable. Therefore, to silence the rival and prevent its actions thus supporting the peace talks, the Armenian Armed Forces will from now use relevant artillery and missile means to constantly target the locations of the Azerbaijani troops’ deployment, military equipment and live power”, the Armenian Defense Ministry press release reads.
