Bulgarian Authorities Issue Red Code Over Heavy Rain, Strong Winds in Burgas
The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAN) issued a red code over considerable rainfall and strong winds in the province of Burgas.
According to the forecast, considerable rainfall up to 60-70 litres per square metre and a strong northern wind is expected on Tuesday.
The weather will be dangerous, with considerable material damages and accidents likely to occur.
The Environment Ministry calls on citizens to follow the instructions and advice of the competent authorities and to be prepared for emergency measures.
NIMH issued orange code over rain and wind in the provinces of Varna, Shumen, Yambol and Sliven.
Considerable rainfall up to 50 litres per square metre and strong northern wind is expected in these provinces.
Yellow code over rainfalls up to 15-30 litres per square metre with strong northern wind was issued for the provinces of Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Targovishte, Razgrad, Silistra, Dobrich, Haskovo and Stara Zagora.
Yellow code over strong wind is issued for the province of Kardzhali.
