New UBC degree embraces grey wave
Within 21 years, one-fourth of B.C.’s population is expected to be age 65 or older. In an attempt to address the coming grey wave and its implication for seniors and their family caregivers, the University of B.C. is now accepting applications for the new Master of Health Leadership and Policy in Seniors Care degree. Jennifer Baumbusch, an associate professor in the UBC School of Nursing, spoke to The Vancouver Sun about the new program and why it’s needed. Answers have been edited for length.
