Dasaran.am has new section about state-run vocational schools and colleges

Armenian education and science minister Armen Ashotyan said today dasaran.am educational resource, designed for school students, has a new section about Armenia-based state-owned 112 vocational schools and colleges.

YEREVAN, October 2. / ARKA /. Armenian education and science minister Armen Ashotyan said today dasaran.am educational resource, designed for school students, has a new section about Armenia-based state-owned 112 vocational schools and colleges.

Speaking to reporters, the minister said creation of the section is part of reforms in vocational education. He added that the section will provide complete and detailed information about government-run colleges and vocational schools and may help school graduates to choose their future careers.

Dasaran.am is the largest educational social network in Armenia, designed not only as an environment for communication and obtaining additional educational materials, but also a good statistical tool for officials responsible for the educational sector, helping to monitor the academic performance of schoolchildren.

The minister said the recent years have seen a great many of educational reforms, including introduction of new standards, jobs, laboratories, etc in Armenian vocational schools and colleges.

According to the minister,  the number of students at Armenian vocational schools and colleges has risen dramatically over the last few years- from 14,000 five years ago to 20,000 now.

Dasaran.am was launched in 2010 to monitor the learning process at schools, increase transparency of schools and shape a system of communication between parents, students and teachers.  The resource is available in all schools of the country.-0-
