Ajax coach De Boer talks up Liverpool, Newcastle jobs

Ajax coach Frank de Boer has left the door open to joining Newcastle United or Liverpool.

De Boer has revealed he is ready for a job in the Premier League and hailed Liverpool as a “fantastic club".

He also praised Newcastle with Toon boss Steve McClaren also feeling the heat at St James' Park.

In an interview with the BBC's World Service, he was asked about Liverpool and Newcastle and De Boer, 45, said: “They are fantastic clubs.

“Liverpool and Newcastle - with supporters behind them - it is a fantastic environment to coach but this year it is important for me to do well at Ajax and then we will see."
