Armenia's domestic trade up 7.8% in 4 months of 2022 to about 1.1 billion drams –NSC

YEREVAN, June 8. /ARKA/. Armenia's domestic trade upped by 7.8% in the first 4 months of 2022 from the same time span of 2021 to about 1.1 billion drams (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee reported.

It said in April 2022 alone, the domestic trade was up 8.6% from 2021 April totaling about 305.5 billion drams. Compared to March 2022 the growth was 1.7%.

The retail trade amounted to 458.9 billion drams or 42.4% of the total. The figure was up 1.5% from the first four months of 2021. The wholesale trade grew by 10.1% to 584.2 billion drams or 53.8% of the total.

Stores accounted for 78.9% of the retail trade or about 362 billion drams showing 3.5% y-o-y growth. Consumer goods markets accounted for 4.4% of the total or 20.3 billion drams having dropped by 13.3%. Agricultural markets accounted for only 0.9% of the total or 4 billion drams. Their share dropped by 9.4% from the first four months of 2021.

Kiosk trade dropped by 9.7% to 1.6% of the total or 7.4 billion drams. Other trade outlets declined by 1.5% to 14.2% of the total or 65.2 billion drams. ($1 - 433.87 drams) -0-
