Yerevan Municipality to spend 3.2 billion drams this year on restoration of recreation zones

YEREVAN, September 2. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Municipality will spend 3.2bln drams on the reconstruction and beatification of recreation zones in the capital city.

Particularly, a public park in Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of victory in WWII has never been renovated. Comfortable conditions for proper rest will be created in the park with a spacious fountain complex. Given the amount of investment, the project is scheduled for completion in 2023.

In Abovyan public park comfortable conditions for recreation will be created. Its exterior lighting and irrigation network will be completely modernized, benches and trash garbage cans will be installed and new landscaping solutions will be carried out.

Decades of neglect have also taken their toll on downtown parks and squares. The Municipality will also reconstruct part of Ring Park.

In the Komitas Park, the irrigation system and outdoor lighting network will also be modernized. The problem here is a bit different: a large part of the garden is run by a tenant.

According to first deputy mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan, some 1.2 billion drams are earmarked for restoration of recreation zones, creation of new ones this year. Also, a large amount of money, about 2 billion drams, is allocated for the overhaul of territories in front of multi-apartment buildings. This year a total of 3.2bln drams will be spent on the city's improvement and upkeep of green areas.-0-
