Charles Michel ready to make efforts to prevent escalation of tension on Armenian-Azerbaijani border
YEREVAN, Sept. 13. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with European Council President Charles Michel on Tuesday, the government press service reported.
It said the prime minister presented in detail the situation created by Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia's sovereign territory.
Michel said that there is no alternative to peace and stability in the region and expressed readiness to make efforts to prevent further escalation.
According to the Armenian Defense Ministry, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units began intensive shelling of Armenian positions from artillery and large-caliber guns in the direction of Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish, Ishkhanasar at 00:05 on September 13.
The enemy also uses UAVs. According to the latest information, the Azerbaijani units advanced into the Armenian territory in some sections of the Armenian border. It said the positional battles were continuing, the Armenian Armed Forces were said to be retaliating.
