Armenian, Russian defense ministers agree to take action to stabilize situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border

Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan held a telephone conversation with Russian Defense Minister  Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.

YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan held a telephone conversation with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.

It said the Armenian Defense Minister presented to his Russian counterpart the situation created by Azerbaijan's large-scale aggression against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.

Papikyan and Shoigu agreed to take necessary steps to stabilize the situation.

According to the Armenian Defense Ministry, as of 08:00 today morning the situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan remained tense.

Beginning from 00:05 the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have been shelling Armenian positions and civilian objects with large caliber artillery and mortars in the direction of Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish and Ishkhanasar. The enemy also uses UAVs. The Armenian side has dead and wounded. -0-
