Armenian Defense Ministry urges citizens not to hand over medicines and food for wounded soldiers to hospitals

Armenian Defense Ministry asked today citizens to refrain from purchasing medicine and food and trying to hand them over to  medical institutions for wounded servicemen.

YEREVAN, Sept. 14. /ARKA/. Armenian Defense Ministry asked today citizens to refrain from purchasing medicine and food and trying to hand them over to medical institutions for wounded servicemen.

The ministry's press service said in a statement that against the background of Azerbaijani military aggression, many citizens and private companies, trying to be helpful to servicemen wounded in the fighting, buy medicines and food products on their own initiative and try to hand them over to military hospitals.

"The Ministry of Defense appreciates the willingness of our fellow citizens to be as helpful to the military as possible. Nevertheless, we assure that all hospitals are provided with everything necessary to properly organize the treatment of military personnel. At the same time, the process of transferring aid from citizens to hospitals creates an additional burden on the personnel of the medical institution, which is undesirable at the moment," it said in a statement.

On September 13 at 00.05, Azerbaijani Armed Forces started intensive shelling of Armenian positions using artillery, combat drones and large-caliber guns in the direction of Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish and Ishkhanasar. They also made attempts to advance into Armenia's territory, but were made retreat by relatiatory fire.

Today morning, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces resumed their attacks, including the use of drone strikes and artillery, in the direction of Jermuk in Syunik and Verin Shorzha village in Gegharkunik regions.

Armenia said at least 49 of its soldiers were killed and three civilians were wounded, and Azerbaijan said it had lost 50 soldiers. -0-
