There are civilian casualties, losses in military equipment due to Azerbaijani attack – Armenian parliament speaker

National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan has officially addressed Armenia's international partners, informing them of the intensive attacks by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces along the entire Armenian-Azerbaijani borderline since September 13.

YEREVAN, September 14. /ARKA/. National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan has officially addressed Armenia's international partners, informing them of the intensive attacks by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces along the entire Armenian-Azerbaijani borderline since September 13.

"They are shelling Armenian positions in the direction of Sotq, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish, Ishkhanasar, Jermuk and adjacent settlements using also drones and mortars," he says in his letters addressed to foreign partners.

The parliament speaker says that Azerbaijani forces are also deliberately firing at civilian infrastructures.

"There are casualties on the Armenian side, including civilian casualties, there are tangible losses in military equipment. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces do not stop the offensive attempts," the letters stress.

Simonyan draws the attention of international partners to the fact that in recent days the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan has persistently created information basis for this military provocation, spreading false information about "Armenian side's shelling of Azerbaijani positions" on a daily basis.

"In connection with Azerbaijan's aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia, the Armenian government appealed to the UN Security Council, the CSTO and the Russian Federation, invoking, particularly, the Russian-Armenian Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. It is obvious that such blatant and illegal actions of Azerbaijan became possible because of the silence of the international community. Today the absence of adequate international reaction resulted in more unbridled aggression of Azerbaijani authorities," the speaker underscores calling for taking measures to solve this vital issue and contribute to putting an end to Azerbaijani aggression, which undermines stability and security of the whole region.

The Armenian Parliament Speaker officially addressed to the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Duarte Pacheco and Secretary General Martin Changing, Chairman of the CSTO PA Council V. Volodin, Chairman of the IPA CIS Council V. Matvienko and President of the European Parliament Roberta Mezzola. -0-
