Russia ready to welcome any attempt to help normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations- Putin's spokesman.

YEREVAN, Sept. 19. /ARKA/. Russia is ready to welcome any attempts that will help the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Yerevan, TASS reported.

"Anything that not in words, but in deeds - and not loudly, but in reality, quietly and business-like - can contribute to the normalization of relations (between Armenia and Azerbaijan), can help stabilize the situation on the border – is welcomed. But let us see whether such loud actions and statements can actually contribute to this normalization,' Peskov noted.

Prior to her visit Nancy Pelosi said in a statement that the ‘Congressional delegation’s visit to Armenia is a powerful symbol of the United States’ firm commitment to a peaceful, prosperous and democratic Armenia, and a stable and secure Caucasus region.’

When in Armenia she said: "On behalf of the U.S. Congress, we strongly condemn Azerbaijan's deadly strikes on Armenian territory."

According to her, the United States, as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, has long and clearly stated that there can be no military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
