President Macron pledges his personal support in resolving Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict
YEREVAN, September 21. /ARKA/. In a message of congratulations sent to his Armenian counterpart Vahagn Khachaturyan on Armenian Independence Day, French President Emmanuel Macron pledged his personal support to help resolve the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"Armenia can count on France's full support for its efforts to strengthen democracy and the rule of law. France is determined to continue its efforts for stability, peace and prosperity in your region," Macron said in the message released by the French Embassy in Yerevan.
According to Macron, France strongly supports the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the resolution of issues related to and arising from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"France supports the European Union's efforts to facilitate dialogue between the parties, while remaining fully committed to its role as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group. You can rely on my personal commitment to the interests of our nations in this regard," the French president said.
Macron describes the friendship between the two countries as longstanding and strong.
"We are developing exemplary cooperation in all areas, in particular I am referring to the bilateral economic roadmap and the France-Armenia Ambition event held in Paris on March 9, which brought together local authorities, civil society and business entities to develop new projects," the message reads.
