Five Armenian startup projects receive financial support from STEP

YEREVAN, October 13. / ARKA /. Five Armenian startup-projects - Skycrypt, Movie Trip, InstaJob, Tree Scale and Localz  received financial support from the Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Program (STEP), the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) said today.

It said a total of 90 projects were submitted for the contest “From Idea to Market’ and only 26 passed to the final.

The winners received each $6,000 from CRDF Global and 2.8 million drams (about $6,000) from the Armenian ministry of economy.

Scycryptor project is a cloud storage of encoded data; Movie Trip is an application for lovers of tourism and films, showing real places and countries, which are somehow connected with various films;

InstaJob app allows employers and job seekers to find interesting offers via phone; Tree Scale app is designed for measuring the weight of small objects and Localz is a network platform for foreign tourists to choose a guide in Armenia.

This is the ninth contest held as part of STEP’s ‘From Idea to Market."

STEP launched in Armenia in 2006 and has trained and funded hundreds of innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs since then. STEP was among earliest S&T entrepreneurship support programs in Armenia, providing a unique contribution to building techno-entrepreneurial culture in Armenia. ($1 – 474. 38 drams).--0--
