Payment cards used in August to make about 118 billion drams worth transactions
Some 117.7 billion drams worth transactions were made in 2015 August in Armenia by using Armenian and foreign banks issued payment cards, by 7.5% less than in July, the Armenian Central Bank said in its monthly bulletin for August.
According to the bulletin, the total number of transactions dropped by 6.4% to 2,319,636. It also said Armenian and foreign banks-issued payments cards were used across the country in August to make 4.4 billion drams worth Internet-based transactions, about 6.1% more than in July, while the total number of Internet-based transactions in the reporting period grew by 2.2% to 204,764.
These same payment cards were used also to make 89.5 billion drams worth transactions via ATMs, a decline of 9.1% from July, while their total number dropped by 7.7% to 1,789,574.
According to the Central Bank, these payment cards were used also to make 23.8 billion drams worth transactions via POS-terminals and imprinters. The figure represents a 3.7% decline from July, while the total number of such transactions fell by 4.3% to 325,298. ($ 1 - 474.38 drams). -0-
