You might not be familiar with the name Theodore Shapiro, but you've undoubtedly heard his work. Across the last year or so, the versatile composer has tuned movies as diverse as the indie dramedy "St. Vincent," Ben Stiller's big screen "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty," and Melissa McCarthy's summer comedy "Spy." Now, Shapiro is headed into the awards season with "Trumbo," and today we have the exclusive preview of his work on the Jay Roach directed movie, previously working with the director on "Game Change."
Starring Bryan Cranston in the title role, the movie tells the true story of Dalton Trumbo, the celebrated Hollywood screenwriter, who was put on the Hollywood blacklist for the refusing to name names during the Communist witch hunt of the 1940s. And Shapiro's work not only aims to capture an era, but a man who had to find a way around the system to keep working. and pursue his craft.
