Prime minister-designate Justin Trudeau is the eldest son of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau, who in 1971 married Margaret Sinclair and went on to have three children: Justin (born in 1971), Alexandre (Sacha) (born in 1973), and Michel (1975-1998) who was killed in an avalanche in 1998.
