In Quebec, the garden snail is useful because it does not eat green plants but rather dead, yellowing or decaying plants. They are the drainer of our gardens. Snails do the cleaning for us! It is therefore useless (and illogical!) to eliminate them. On the other hand, slugs are very destructive, so don't be afraid to control them... but don't kill ...
