Armenian energy ministry preparing proposals for further status of Vanadzor Chemical Plant
YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Armenia's energy and natural resources ministry is preparing proposals for further operation of the Vanadzor Chemical Plant, Armenian Energy Minister Yervand Zakharyan said Wednesday at a Q&A session in the National Assembly.
Prometey-Chimprom CJSC has accumulated backdated wages and debts to energy and other entities.
«A scrutiny is under way now, and upon completion appropriate conclusions and proposals will be presented to the president and the government for discussing a further status of the plant,» Zakharyan said.
He also informed members of the National Assembly that a suit had been filed for recognizing the plant a bankrupt, and this suit had been satisfied, but the decision had been disputed and it is being discussed now.
The minister stressed that this plant is a 100-percent private property, and said that although the ministry is preparing proposals, a final decision will be made by the owner.
He also said that the backdated wages for two months are already paid, and the remaining debt will be paid before December 15.
Prometey-Chimprom CJSC consists of three entities – the Vanadzor Chemical Plant, the Vanadzor Sinthetic Fiber Plant and the Vanadzor Thermal Power Plant. It resumed operating in 2005 after long years of stand-still. The plant is owned by Russia's Roding Limited International registered in the Great Britain. ----0----
