Armenian citizen mentioned in media report among Islamic State members arrested in Egypt doesn’t exist
YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. The Armenian citizen mentioned in Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper’s report among the Islamic State members arrested in Egypt doesn’t exist, Novosti-Armenia reported today referring to Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan.
Earlier, RIA Novosti reported referring to the newspaper that Egypt’s policy arrested six Islamic State members, who came from Libya for preparing terrorist acts in touristic centers.
According to the newspaper, the arrested men are a Tajik army colonel, citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Serbia, Syria, Iran and one Egyptian man.
“Armenia’s embassy in Cairo sent official requests to Egypt’s appropriate agencies to check veracity of the information,” Balayan said. «Along with that, I state that there is no a citizen with this name and surname in Armenia.» ---0----
